We are expert in new foundations design and construction as well as the piled underpinning and traditional underpinning of existing buildings

Our Piling and New Foundations Division is headed by a chartered civil engineer who has specialised in piled foundations for new build and existing properties for over 25 years.

This specialist service is available to professional advisors and supervising officers, main contractors who wish to sub contract foundation design and construction, and also directly to home owners and self builders.

We have expert knowledge of designing new foundations where shrinkable clays, soft ground or landfill are issues. Our engineer will propose a bespoke solution for piles and ground beams or piles and raft slab foundations.

This is followed by the production of detailed engineering drawings and - where appropriate - submission for building regulations consent. The final design is then produced on site with minimum disruption.

Purkelly offer a range of auger bored piles from 100mm up to 300mm DIA dependent on the structure loadings and steel cased driven piles, 100mm, 150mm or 220mm DIA. The type of pile is dependent on the ground conditions.

Once on site, our projects are led by an experienced manager and the same site foreman remains there for the duration.

Purkelly site staff are fully aware of which aspects of the construction need to be inspected and work within strict programmes worked out with the professional advisor or main contractor to enable these inspections to be carried out effectively by Supervisory Officers and Local Authority inspectors without delaying the overall progress of the contract.
